My husband Joe and I have been married for 5 years and were blessed with the birth of our first child Maddison on March 19, 2009. Joe and I are both in the Army, Joe is a Physical Training Instructor and I am a Reporter for Army News. As you can imagine Maddison is our world but unfortunately I am required to return to work for a short time and we are looking for someone to care for our little girl in our absence. As a family we enjoy to spend our time together playing and educating Madddison. We go on family walks, play in the park and spend some weekends down the coast. We live in a four bedroom home on Duntroon (no pets) with access to a swimming pool, parks, coffee shop, lookouts and are only five minutes from the city of Canberra and the local markets. The Au Pair will have there own bedroom but unfortunatley the home has only one bathroom. At this point we have two vehicles of which the Au Pair will have access to unless circumstances change. There is a bus service which leaves from right outside our front door. We are prepared to provide a mobile for local calls and internet access. We require the Au Pair to care for Maddison Mon-Fri 0730-1630. Extra hours will depend on the availability of the Au Pair but will not be expected. We request Maddison is taken to a local play group 1-2 times a week for interaction with other children. We do not require the Au Pair to carry out any household duties at this point in time. Maddison is a very happy, energetic, easy-going child full of life and personality. She is very loving, social and adapts well to new people and change. We hope to find somebody who can show Maddison the same love and care that we do. Thank you so much for your time Joe, Jane and Maddison. Both parents work very nearby, dad at 50m from home and comes home for lunch and mum at 700m from home so both are nearby should they need to step in/help out, especially at the beginning. The host dad is taking some time off to help you settle. The little girl still has 2 sleeps a day and has a good routine. The parents have used daycare before but mum was not happy as there were so many children to each carer, she thinks the au pair/nanny route is much better as it is one-to-one care and attention for her daughter. Both parents are very active and like going to the gym and being outdoors also. At weekends they go to local markets, the park, see friends etc. GREAT LOCATION; very central to Canberra City centre + good local transport.

Hello aupair, my name is Graeme Wells we are a single parent family with two girls Bonnie aged 7 & Victoria aged 4, we live in southern Victoria, Australia, on a small rural property to the west of the city of Geelong (pronounced, Jillong),about 20 minutes drive,we are also about 30 minutes from the surf coast & great ocean rd, Melbourne is approximatly 1 hour to the north. I am an aircraft engineer employed to service qantas 747,s at Avalon Airport, where I am required to work shifts mon to fri 7am to 3pm days & 3pm to 11pm afternoons, on a one week rotating basis. We live in a two year old four bedroom house on sixteen acres, a room is available, however bathroom will need to shared with girls. Bonnie currently attends a primary school about ten klms from home & Victoria will be attending kinda soon, both will require driving to & from, depending on what shift I am on, so driving a manual transmission car is essential, an older but safe car will be provided for this purpose, also because there is very limited public transport this car can also be used during times off as required,(also family car),although I have other transport. We also have animals including cows, the family pets are two cats Khan & Maggie. which are friendly, although Khan tends to talk alot. The girls aunt Liz has been helping for the past eighteen months, but does not live here, however will stay here occasionaly if required, I envision she will remain an important part of girls lives & will also assist with care. Host host father is kind and caring and just wants the best for his little girls and looks forward to introduce another culture and language to his family. Aunt Liz has been caring for the children full time and now needs to also get back to her own life a bit more but is keen for the right person to come in and gradually take over from her. She also wants the best for the girls! Host dad works shifts but is off at weekends. The shift pattern is either for him to work 7-3 or 3-11 which means he is able to help out either afternoons or mornings. He does all the housework but would be delighted if you can do the tasks relating to the children and help with some simple meals. The location is 'real Australia', there is a shop nearby and a pub at walking distance but you have access to the car so Geelong (18km), the Surf Coast (17km) and also Melbourne (93km) are easy to reach. Geelong is part of the 'great ocean road' and popular with tourist wanting to drive the amazing scenery. Aunt Liz lives on the coast so there are always opportunities to visit her, which the girls really like. DRIVER is required but the school run drive is not very busy and easy to navigate. (approx 12km) NOTE TO ALL AU PAIRS - During the (summer) holidays you are likely to be asked to do extra hours. (for extra pay) LOCAL TOURIST INFORMATION: About Geelong: Stunning (more http://visitgreatoceanroad.org.au/great-ocean-road/destinations/geelong) Geelong is a vibrant regional city just down the road from Melbourne featuring a stunning waterfront and a fabulous wine region on our doorstep. And there is so much more. Geelong has an amazing mix of dining and entertainment options. The beautiful Barwon River winds its way through the city past lush parks and gardens. Walking trails are everywhere so its very easy to explore. Geelong has a colourful history which you can discover via many of the local attractions, museums and galleries. The Surf Coast: Adventurous The Surf Coast includes the main towns of Torquay, Anglesea, Aireys Inlet (believed to be one of the Great Ocean Road's greatest secrets), and Lorne. It has a strong Koori (Aboriginal) background with the Wathaurong People living there for around 40,000 years up till 170 years ago when the area became inundated with white settlers. Lorne is the final stop along the Surf Coast and one of the more well-known and well-established resorts within the Great Ocean Road territory. Lorne accommodation is one of the more difficult to find during peak season. There are 8 different waterfalls situated inland of the Surf Coast, particularly impressive in winter. It's worth checking out the other inland towns which provide a range of natural beauty such as views to the sea from Winchelsea; a distinct rural feel from Freshwater Creek, or sweeping bushland from Bambra. Home to Rip Curl and Quiksilver, local sites of interest along the Surf Coast include the Surf World Museum in Torquay, and of course Bells Beach, (between Torquay and Anglesea) famous for its surf and surfing competitions.

Both parents work but mum will always be very close to home. This position is perfect for someone who is comfortable spending time on their own; reading, painting, nature etc. and does not get lonely easily. I would be provided with a house in the community which is 2 bedroom and 2 bathrooms, which the au- pair would live in full time, I would require an au pair to provide sole care during my working hours and then I would also stay at the house every third night as i would be required to be on call and would just need the au pair to be available if the kids woke up in my abscence- The role itself is not demanding but, as the little one is still very young, we need someone with sufficient childcare experience and/or qualification to provide sole care even though mum is less than 5 minutes away and home for lunch. You can have your meals with the host mum, who is looking forward to your company, either at your house or at the host family's fishing lodge. Cooking can be shared between you and when there are guests at the lodge there will be a professional cook/chef to provide meals. In your spare time, expect to enjoy the beautiful nature and lots of peace & quiet. There are some activities like for example taking part in the Police basketball team. When there are no clients at the fishing lodge, you can go out fishing in the boat also. Outside the indigenous (aboriginal) community, the people on the island are limited to police team (approx 3), teachers (approx 5, including 2 younger team members), healthcare team (approx 4) workers at the pearl farm (usually approx 15 staff) and a few others. There is one local shop on the island and at the pearl farm there is a recreation room with a pool table etc. which is open to outside visitors. Your accommodation is in a separate house where you will look after the children when mum is working and mum will stay in 'your house' when she is on call. Most of your meals will be shared with the host family in either house. You will still be treated very much as part of the family but have your own independence too. GREAT LOCATION; REAL Australia for someone happy to be away from mainstream entertainment and town life. If you can drive, the family can give you access to a car. BONUS - Weekly pay $250 + bonus of $1250 after 6 months. Host mum has agreed to take you to Darwin for a break from Island life after 3 months. Your flights from Darwin on arrival and departure are paid for by the host family.

We live very nearby to the beach which Jason and I spend a lot of time on. The sea is very shallow and stretches for miles so it's not only safe but very friendly environment. Also near the beach is a play park, tennis and basketball/netball court. Jason and I spend a lot of time on our bikes. Semaphore is a 20 minute walk away but Jason and I very often cycle there along the beach front, there are plenty of things to do there from children’s’ play parks to bars and restaurants. Within Semaphore throughout the year there are numerous functions held in the oval at Semaphore. Since I have been here there have been open air concerts, Greek themed nights and many more. It is a very popular place and many people turn out to support the variety of function. From where we stay the City of Adelaide is easy accessible via car, train or bus. Also nearby is West Lakes Shopping Centre again this is either a short bus journey or a 20 minute walk. The shopping centre is over two floors and hosts numerous shops, a very large food court, library and a cinema. Anything you want can be got there. Also around our neighbourhood are yoga, fitness, mediation classes and many more. I currently work a shift pattern which consists of day shift (7am-3.30pm), afternoon shift (3pm-11.30pm) and nightshift (11pm-7.30am). This shift pattern is worked over 5 weeks, with days off being 2-4 days depending on which shift rotation I have just finished. The responsibilities of an au pair during a school term would be:- . During my dayshift get Jason organised for school and collect him after the school day concludes. . During my afternoon shift it would be a matter of collecting Jason from school, helping him with any homework, making his tea and making sure he is in bed by 8.30pm. . During my nighshift would only be a matter of being in the house during the night when I am at work. (A shift pattern rota can be forwarded if required). Adelaide has often been voted 'best place to live', as it is a small city, right on the beach and the hills are nearby too. Adelaide is famous for festivals and food and there are lots of International Student so you will always be able to meet up with other young people. You can enjoy the wildlife parks nearby and everything is within easy reach. http://www.southaustralia.com/Adelaide.aspx As mum works shifts, you will need to be a bit flexible regarding your days off, they may not always be at the weekend. You will be expected to stay at home during nights when mum is working. DRIVER is not required. GREAT LOCATION; coastal suburb of Adelaide city. Less than 30 minutes from Central Adelaide. NOTE TO ALL AU PAIRS - During the (summer) holidays you are likely to be asked to do extra hours. (for extra pay)

Au Pair in Australia

AUSTRALIA/Adelaide
My name is Gillian and I live in Semaphore Park, Adelaide, South Australia and have been here since September 2009 from Scotland, UK. I am 39 years old and I am a Police Officer based at Port Adelaide Police Office. I live in Australia with my 9 year old son. He currently attends West Lakes Primary School which is a very short walk from our house. He has several friends who live nearby, so he is always on the go, whether attending to his hobbies or purely visiting friends. His hobbies are Tae Kwon Do lessons, which he attends twice a week as well as tennis and basketball through the school recreation group. We live very nearby to the beach which Jason and I spend a lot of time on. The sea is very shallow and stretches for miles so it's not only safe but very friendly environment. Also near the beach is a play park, tennis and basketball/netball court. Jason and I spend a lot of time on our bikes. Also around our neighbourhood are yoga, fitness, mediation classes and many more. Prior to moving to Australia we had a dog, 2 rabbits and a fish, we are an animal loving household and hope to introduce a small sized dog to our family in the not so distant future. Jason loves animals and he looks after them very well. His responsibilities were to clean out cages/tanks and feed them. During my nighshift would only be a matter of being in the house during the night when I am at work. (A shift pattern rota can be forwarded if required). In between starting and commencing shifts I will take care of Jason and also during my days off I will be there for him. So any au pair joining our family has plenty of free time to themselves. However, if they would like to come with us to any family outings they will be more than welcome. As yet Jason and I have not travelled a lot around Australia but intend to start at mid way through the year, so again this could also be an opportunity for our new au pair to share our new adventures. At the moment I do not attend any clubs or sporting activities but I would like to try sailing. Our house has three bedrooms, one with an ensuite which Jason and I share, this leaving the main bathroom for our au pair. The spare bedroom is to the front of the house and this will provide some privacy to the au pair. A TV is in the room and a mobile phone will be provided so as communications can be maintained between the au pair and me. The internet is also available to use. I have a car which can also be used when I do not require it and to be honest as I enjoy heading out on my bike the car more often and not sits on the driveway. I do enjoy cooking and doing housework but a little help maybe required from our au pair. The main shopping will be bought by myself, this will consist of chicken, pork, fruit and vegetables. Our meals usually consist of casseroles, stir fry's, pasta or rice dishes. If the meals are to the au pairs liking then they will be more than welcome to join in with meal times, however any additional dietary requirements can be prepared by them. In conclusion I would just like to add that I have spoken to Jason about an au pair joining our family and he is more than happy to share our family life with them. Host mum is really relaxed and ready to embrace the spirit of the au pair program with her son, providing a warm welcome and making sure you feel part of the small but close family! Adelaide has often been voted 'best place to live', as it is a small city, right on the beach and the hills are nearby too. AU PAIR IN AUSTRALIA
AUS/2010/012
My husband David and I live in a tourist town in Victoria called Echuca. We own a hotel and I am a diabetes nurse educator. We have two sons, Edward 3 and Albert 1. We also have a dog called Rosie who lives outside and is 9 years old and very very friendly. We require an au pair as I am pregnant and will need assistance with my two children until and after the birth in July. In my past pregnancies I have been quite unwell with nausea and other problems so I need someone to help with day to day living. Edward is in day care twice a week and Albert generally once a week. We have a very active lifestyle with the children and my husband is a very 'hands on' father. The Summer is here however and he is very busy at work ... works long hours and late nights. The au pair will have her own room with a new single bed. She is required to share a bathroom and toilet with the boys ... but given they are so young, should not be an issue. Our home is very comfortable and although we are 2.5 hrs from Melbourne, there is plenty to do in this town and nearby. I travel to Melbourne regularly also as my family is there and I deliver my babies there. I would like an au pair who can drive our car, which is automatic. Cook as needed and do very light house work. We swim regularly and I enjoy taking the boys on walks and bike rides. We are involved in a playgroup once a week and spend time with other of the children's friends. To learn more about Echuca please search www.echucamoama.com.au

We are looking for an au pair to join our family and help care for Harri, Max and Oscar while myself and Chris are at work. I work in public affairs for American Express and Chris is a director of the Australian Industry Group. Harri and Max will attend a pre-school for part of the day and we will need you to drive them to school and pick them up. Oscar will remain at home with you during the day. We also need your help to prepare breakfast and lunches for the children as well as take them to the park, the beach, play games and read books at home with them. Most evenings and weekends will be free for you to spend as you wish however occasionally we might ask for extra baby sitting help. We have had five au pairs over the last two and a half years and really enjoy having them as part of our family. Each au pair has been special in her own way and we keep in touch with all of them. Being twins, Max and Harri are very close to each other and are the best of friends, I think they are very lucky to have each other to play with. Sometimes they get fed up with each other and fight but they very quickly say sorry to each other and have a big hug to make up. Oscar is the newest member of our family and so far he has been a very easy baby and Max and Harri love being big brothers. They always want to give him kisses and cuddles. We have a large 5 bedroom home with a swimming pool in Sydney. The suburb is called Freshwater which is right on the beach and approximately 30 minutes from the city centre either by bus or ferry. You will have your own bedroom as well as access to the internet. We spend our weekends having fun with our children, swimming, visiting the beach, shopping, wining and dining and catching up with friends. We love to travel and although it's a little harder to do so with three children we try to visit new places over the weekend. We work hard during the week so like our weekends to be relaxed and family oriented.

AU PAIR IN AUSTRALIA
AUS/2010/014
We are both lawyers. We don't have any pets and look forward to the life on the beach. We are looking for an au pair who is a native English speaker. The girls will not start school immediately but will stay home with the au pair for the first 2 - 4 months. The idea is that they will pick up the English language during this period. At the moment their active English is limited. They are exposed to the English language through English speaking nannies in Finland but they need to be able to express their needs and even explain some more complex situations before going to school. They are very motivated to learn more. The au pair would take care of the girls during the week-days, 5-6 hours per day. These hours could also include some light household work. Once the girls have started school we can rearrange the situation to reflect the changed circumstances. No work during the week-ends, unless we occasionally agree on that. The au pair will have her own room and will have internet access. Both parents have lived in various other countries including Sweden and France and have been on cultural exchange programs themselves when they were younger so they are very able to understand how to welcome an au pair! GREAT LOCATION; Adelaide is a very accessible city with good local transport, great beaches and lots of International Students.

Both parents work but mum returns home at approx 4.30 most afternoons.

The family enjoy eating evening meals together and being active at weekends.

School and nursery/kindy are only a very short drive away (800m and 1km) but a driver is definitely preferred. The car that the family provide is a manual car.

On an average week our au pair will work between 25 -30 hours per week.  Nathann goes to school every day from 9am - 3pm.  Noa will attend pre-school on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9am - 4pm.  Your duties will include packing their lunch-boxes, school bags, getting them ready for school (breakfast, getting dressed) and dropping them off at school.  In the afternoons you will pick them up from their respective schools, help Nathann with any homework that he might have.  I will be home from 4 - 4:30pm.  On the other days (Mon, Wed, Fri) the same duties will be expected of you, but on those days Noa will stay with you during the day. Once a week we ask (if it is possible) that you wash the children's laundry.  Your duties will be strictly limited to the children's areas (keeping their rooms tidy, doing their laundry and giving them breakfast and/or lunch).

In return, we will offer you a weekly allowance of $150 - $200 plus extra for any out of normal hours baby-sitting.  You will have your own private room downstairs, your own living room and private bathroom).  You will have internet access, telephone access, and use of the car in your personal time.

Having said all of the above, we are truly looking for someone who will be a part of our family.  Not just someone to live with us and look after our children.  We have dinner as a family every evening and we would like you to join us during these times.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.  We are looking forward to hearing from you, and more importantly, to welcome you as a member of our family in our home!
GREAT LOCATION; Very central to Central Sydney, good public transport (and use of car)

GREAT ACCOMMODATION; Own bedroom and bathroom (shower)

Au pair in Australia

AUS/2010/16

My name is Fariba and I am a single mum of two. My first child (25 years old daughter) lives away so don’t worry about her! I have a lovely little boy, Odin (3), who needs after school care starting from August 2010.

Somebody to pick him up from school at 1 and spend some time with him till I get home around 4ish. I am a psychiatrist in a local hospital with a busy job so I need somebody reliable and responsible. Somebody who can give me a hand at time for housework , even though there’s not really much to do.

I am not a social butterfly and quite enjoy reading, listening to the music and cooking but at times will need night baby sitting too.

We live in a nice house close to the beach a lovely little old port 25 k from Perth. This little town seems to be very attractive for young tourists as they come to visit and stay from all over the world so a very multicultural community.

We speak Persian and English at home. Have lived in Paris so familiar to French culture as well. In our house, you will be part of the family, having your own room but sharing bathroom.

You will have internet connection at home and you can walk to the town and beach(10 min).

AUSTRALIA

AUS/2010/17

My name is Katie and my husband is Chris and we have twin boys called Harri and Max who are 3 and a baby called Oscar who is 6 months old. We live in Brisbane, Australia at the moment, however in few months we will be moving back to Sydney which is where we own a house and plan to permanently reside. Originally I am originally from the UK.

We love to travel and although it’s a little harder to do so with three children we try to visit new places over the weekend. We work hard during the week so like our weekends to be relaxed and family oriented.

I hope I've given you enough information to start off with. Feel free to ask me any questions in return. We look forward to welcoming you to our family and introducing you to Australia.
Best wishes,
Katie, Chris, Max, Harri, and Oscar
