Childcare International is the appointed U.K. Co-ordinator for Au Pair Link, N.Z By living with a carefully selected family as an au pair/nanny you will be able to work with children and really taste the "Kiwi way of life".

You will make new friends from around the world, safe in the knowledge that we are there to care for you and ensure that your stay is all you have dreamed of!

Families are located both on the North and South Island of New Zealand, and cities include Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Taranaki, Wellington and Christchurch.

All au pairs arrive at Auckland International Airport and attend a 3-day Orientation Course staying in a comfortable, well-located hotel with all meals and accommodation provided.  This will give you the opportunity to get to know your surroundings, make new friends and complete a very full and informative educational programme.

There are 2 Au Pair Programmes available to choose from, ranging from 20 - 45 hours per week. Salaries vary from NZ$190 to NZ$355 per week depending on the Programme chosen, inclusive of free board and lodging. Lots of free time!  Not all programmes require formal training, however some experience in childcare is needed.

AU PAIR 123

  • 30 - 45 hours per week with at least one child under 5 years of age
  • NZ$210 - NZ$250 net salary per week
  • Minimum 200 hours of documented childcare experience
  • Monthly visits by our qualified Early Childhood Education teachers 
  • Access to free playgroups and monthly activities as well as educational resources
  • Monthly outings
  • Additional monthly outings with your host children

AU PAIR WHIZ- Our Nanny Programme

  • 30 - 45 hours per week sole charge with at least one child under 5 years of age
  • NZ$295 - NZ$355 net salary per week
  • Minimum 2 years full time childcare experience or a relevant childcare qualification
  • Candidates can have an early childhood degree or diploma + 6 months experience working with children under five years of age, or one year full time experience working with children under five years of age
  • Monthly visits by our qualified Early Childhood Education teachers 
  • Access to free playgroups and monthly activities as well as educational resources
  • Monthly outings
  • Additional monthly outings with your host children

Driving:
It is preferable for you to hold a current driving licence. Without this your choice of families is limited.

Visa:
A WORKING HOLIDAY VISA will be required for all these Programme (available for UK citizens and other permitted nationals)

To be eligible you must:

  • Be 18 - 30 years and 11 months old
  • Have no dependent children
  • Must not have previously entered New Zealand on a Working Holiday Visa

Travel:
Together with our partner Au Pair Link, Childcare International will be pleased to assist you in arranging your flights, visa, insurance, etc. Please see below for further details.  Alternatively, you are welcome to make your own travel, visa and insurance arrangements.

Opening Bank Accounts
Anyone applying to open a bank account in New Zealand must provide their tax file number from their own country, even if they have never had a job before.

ORIENTATION COURSE

All au pairs participate in an exciting three day Orientation Course on arrival. This gives the perfect opportunity to get over jet lag and settle into your new environment. New friends can be made from day one whilst you learn all about the welcoming New Zealand lifestyle.

The Orientation Course provides:

  • Two nights hotel accommodation and all meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner.
  • Professional childcare training from qualified teachers, course material and the opportunity to meet other Au Pairs.
  • A tailor made CPR and first aid course for Au Pairs conducted by St John during orientation
  • Theoretical driving lessons with a professional instructor for New Zealand conditions and road rules
  • An introduction to our Early Childhood Educational Curriculum, workshops on behaviour management, childcare training and food and nutrition plus much more
  • An optional tour of Auckland City (NZ$50) including a 360 degree view of Auckland from the summit of a dormant volcano, Mt. Eden, an Auckland Harbour Ferry Cruise to Devonport, traditional fish and chips dinner by the water and an evening skyline view passing by the Sky Tower on your return to your hotel.

Au Pair Meetings:
Each Au Pair will be visited by her qualified teacher once a month at home in order to discuss well-being, daily routines and progress of the children's development.  In addition, depending on your Programme, there are weekly Playgroups, monthly au pair outings (au pairs only) and monthly child/children with au pair outings. This provides a great opportunity to share your experiences and make new international friends.

PROGRAMME FEES:
The Standard Programme Fee is NZ$499  (approximately £244) and this covers full orientation, support during the matching process, full ongoing support for the duration of your placement in New Zealand plus a rematch guarantee should the placement not work out (no flights included) The programme fee is payable when you match with a host family;  no placement, no fee!

The All-Inclusive Programme Fee is usually around NZ$3,499 (approximately £1,707)  subject to flight availability.  This provides:

  • Your return airfare London / New Zealand
  • 3 days Orientation to include full board and lodging
  • Travel Insurance and full medical cover
  • Working Holiday Visa application- at your own cost.
  • Monthly meetings and full support throughout your entire stay
  • A Completion Bonus of NZ$ 1,040 paid at the end of your stay at the end of an agreed 12 month stay or NZ$520.00 at the end of an agreed 6 month stay.
