Au Pair in America Conference 2016

This year the Au Pair in America’s annual conference was held in Puerto Rico.

Brenda our placement co-ordinator had the privilege of attending the conference and had a great time there.

She stayed at the Caribe Hilton Hotel which sits on a 17-acre peninsula outside San Juan and was the first luxury hotel to open in the region, becoming a popular destination for the rich and famous who helped spread word of the drink. (Pina Colada)

Ramón “Monchito” Marrero, a barman from the Caribe Hilton, claims to have created the Piña Colada in 1954, during his days as bartender at that resort. For those of you who don’t know what that drink consists of, it consists of, it is: coconut, pineapple and white rum. Well enough about the drinks and social scene.

Brenda had the opportunity meet the counsellors, and various agents from all over the world. She made many new contacts and the whole event was so well organised and Brenda would like to thank AIFS for the invitation and the opportunity to attend the conference.

Brenda returns with new enthusiasm for the programme having made new friends and contact and many priceless memories.
